ANOKI HELPS TO RAISE £195,000 WITH THREE CHARITY DINNERS
A series of charity fundraising events held at our Derby and Burton restaurants have helped to raise over £190,000 for three inspiring local charities.
At the end of April, £61,000 was raised for Midlands Doctors Association (MDA), which was established in 2005 following the earthquake that devastated parts of northern Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.
A fundraising dinner in early May raised more than £60,000 for the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT), which provides food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education to many orphaned boys and girls in Kashmir.
Most recently, a phenomenal £74,500 was raised for The Halimah Trust, a not-for-profit organisation established in memory of Derby teenager Halimah Ahmed.
Commenting on the events, Naveed Khaliq, owner of Anoki, said:
"It's always a pleasure to host fundraising events at Anoki as they can have a real impact on so many people across the world.
"To raise £195,000 is a fantastic achievement and I'd like to wish the three charities every success with these valuable projects."
